January 16th – Steelheading the Salmon River – Tackle, rigging, flies and baits for fishing the prolific and accessible Salmon River of Pulaski, NY through the seasons.

January 23rd – Preparing for Atlantic Canyons – The gulf stream flows roughly 100 miles offshore of Cape Cod along the Atlantic Canyons, and brings with it tunas, billfish, mahi mahi and more. Learn the tackle and gear required to take a shot at these offshore species.

January 30th – Icefishing for Big Trout - Trophy trout can be tricky to fool but there’s always a way to get ‘em. Learn baits, rigs and strategies to catch a wall-hanger.

March 6th – Hooking Bluefin Tunas; How to fool fussy fish - The only thing higher than Japanese demand for New England bluefin is the number of hooks these tuna see every day. Learn a few tricks to fool the most wary fish in the Gulf of Maine.

March 13th - Landing Bluefin Tunas; Strategies to kill commercial fish – There’s money on the end of your line but it’s not easy reeling it in. We will discuss scenarios and tactics to get that fish into a tailrope.

March 20th - Haddock on Jeffries – The most popular fillet in New England is abundant on Jeffries Ledge. Learn effective rigs, baits and presentations to reel up a bunch of haddocks this spring.

Wednesday Jan. 4. Ice fishing for trout. Brown brook, rainbow, and lake trout each require specialized tackle and technique.. We will talk about baits, location, and timing to catch a NH trophy.

Wednesday Jan 11. Steelhead Flies. Hex, egg, stone, caddis and flesh flies that will up your catch at the Salmon River.

Wednesday Jan 18. Intro to Modern Ice-fishing. Discussion of shelters, augers, tip-ups, lines, and lures available to today’s ice fisherman.

Wednesday Jan 25 Fishing New York’s Salmon River. Chuck-n-duck, flyfishing and spinning techniques for steelhead, brown trout, and salmon of the prolific Salmon River. An overview of tackle gear and technique.

Wednesday Feb. 1 Hi-tech ice-fishing. Vexilars cameras gps’s and chart plotters add new dimensions to ice fishing. Learn how to apply electronics to the hard water.

Wednesday Feb. 8 Modern Fishing Knots. Fluorocarbon and braid offer huge advantages to savvy fisherman, but also new connection challenges. We will cover effective line-to-line and terminal knots plus when and where to use them.

Wednesday Feb 15 Striper Flies. Basic effective patterns that are the staples of flyfishing for stripers.

Wednesday Feb. 22 Bluefin Strategies. Whether fishing in the fleet or scratching the edges every giant fisherman needs a plan plus the ability to adapt. We will talk theory and technique to give you the tools to be successful on the tuna grounds.

Wednesday Feb. 29 Ground fishing the Gulf of Maine. We will talk about jigging and baiting on the drift and on anchor plus trip planning and finding fish through the season.

Wednesday Mar. 7 Rigging for Bluefin Tuna. Learn terminal rigging techniques such as crimping, splicing and knots to use against the strongest fish in the sea plus bait presentation and rigging systems to maximize bites, hookups and landings.

Wednesday Mar 14 Trolling the Big Lakes for Salmon. Downriggers, leadcore, flyline and flatline techniques all have their place through salmon season and we will talk about flies, hardware and livebait tactics plus electronics, motors, and boats.

Wednesday Mar 21 Recreational Tuna in the Gulf of Maine. Our school tuna are challenging but fun. Discussion of baits lures rigging and locations.

Wednesday Mar 28 Marine Electronics 101. Get confident with your electronics to catch more fish, have more fun and be safe at sea.
